Do the Bees Die? 
No. Thankfully New Zealand ingenuity has come to save the bees. As they buzz around the hive they wander over a glass panel that is lightly charged. This charge is very annoying for the bees and so they sting the glass. Since the glass is hard they do not lose their stinger and so do not die.
